Last Minute Preparation Tips for NEET UG 2024

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is your gateway to a fulfilling career in medicine. As a future doctor, conquering NEET 2024 is the first crucial step. But the exam format, marking scheme, and syllabus might seem daunting at first glance. Worry not! This guide by Aditya Global Educational Services will shed light on all the essential details of NEET UG 2024:

Exam Pattern:
  • Duration: You’ll have 3 hours and 20 minutes to showcase your knowledge across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology).
  • Question Structure: Brace yourself for 200 objective-type questions. However, you’ll only need to answer 180 of them, with each subject contributing 45 questions (180 questions divided by 4 subjects = 45 questions/subject).
  • Marking Scheme:
  • 1. Embrace Rewards (+4 marks): Every correct answer is your golden ticket! Aim for accuracy and showcase your understanding effectively.
2.Beware of Negative Marking (-1 mark): Don’t be afraid to leave a question blank if you’re unsure. Guessing incorrectly can lead to a deduction, so choose wisely.
    3. Multiple Correct Answers (+4 marks for everyone who attempted): If a question has multiple correct answers, and you attempt it (even with a partially correct response), you’ll likely receive all 4 marks (assuming all options you chose are indeed correct).
    4. Unanswered Questions (0 marks): There’s no penalty for leaving a question blank. If you’re stuck, move on and focus on what you know to avoid losing marks.
    5. Extra Attempts (0 marks): The exam offers more questions than you need to answer. Focus on attempting the questions you’re most confident in and avoid exceeding the specified limit. These extra attempts won’t be considered for evaluation.

    Section-wise Breakup:
    • Section A: This mandatory section will include 35 questions (15 from each subject) that you must attempt.
    • Section B: Here, you have the freedom to choose which questions to answer. Each subject will have 10 questions, of which you only need to attempt 5.
Remember: Strategic use of the marking scheme can significantly improve your NEET score. By understanding the rewards and penalties, you can make informed decisions during the exam and maximize your chances of success.
